Russians sweeten their tea with black cherries. Swedes mix lingonberry jam with sour cream on their meatballs. Figs were used to fatten geese back in the Roman times to make foie gras. I’ve inherited a penchant for all these sweet and savory mixes and after a trip from the World Market and realized how opposite flavors really do attract, and combine to saturate your tongue with satisfactory flavors.
